This is a landmark painting for me. After painting music for many years this was my first figurative painting.
It was inspired by two things, firstly my girlfriend and secondly the photography that Francis bacon surrounded
himself with. I sat in front of this painting looking at it for three hours trying to figure out how to express
how important it is when a painter paints a portrait of you, and then I wrote the words on it violently.
This is installed at Norwood, one of my favourite spots in NYC. www.norwoodclub.com
